Special Announcement - Great Glemham Parish Council
From the Honorary Clerk, Nicholas Redman
You may have learned that I am resigning my post as Honorary Clerk to the Parish Council. I have enjoyed working as your clerk since 2008. However, it has become clear to me that the clerk’s role has since expanded considerably. Clerks now shoulder additional, significant and formal responsibilities and there are now few (if any) clerks who still work on an honorary basis.
I am working with my parish council colleagues and the prospective clerk, Caroline McEmeny, to make the change as smooth as practicable. However, there is no hiding the fact that the change will cause the parish council’s share of the council tax higher though all parish councillors are working together to limit the increase as much as possible.
The parish council will be meeting in the village hall at 7pm on 9 August.
